A 24-year-old software developer from Bengaluru, Chitransh Anand, has thrilled his family after securing a job at Uber with a salary of Rs 60 lakh per annum. An alumnus of MNNIT Allahabad, he previously worked at Oracle for two years and began searching for better opportunities when he found the Uber listing. Anand shared that he discovered the vacancy through discussion boards on Leetcode and Levels and dedicated seven months to interview preparation, often sacrificing sleep.

He successfully navigated four interview rounds, including challenging questions outside his study scope. Anand is set to join Uber next month and mentioned that his parents, especially his mother, are very proud and happy, having witnessed his hard work. They advised him to prioritize his health moving forward.

Anand, originally from Mughalsarai near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, has made Bengaluru his home since he started working at Oracle with a salary of Rs 40 LPA in 2022. At Oracle, he enjoyed a good work-life balance, working from the office three days a week. With his new role at Uber, he will only need to be in the office two days a week, and he anticipates not having to work long hours. He mentioned speaking with his future manager and researching company forums, which led him to believe that long hours won’t be a norm. Anand expressed that at this stage in his career, he is focused on seizing opportunities and is willing to work hard, stating he can find a better work-life balance later on.

When asked about his plans for the extra money from his new job at Uber, Anand mentioned that he intends to increase his investments in stocks and mutual funds. He also expressed interest in experimenting with the US markets but is not planning to spend on a car or a house at the moment. “I have no plans of buying a house or a car as of now, but may think about it in another couple of years,” he said, indicating a focus on building his financial portfolio first.
