3000 residents in Shiv Sai lane in Pimple Saudagar suffer due to negligence of Smart City and MSEDCL work

Residents of Shiv Sai Lane in Pimple Saudagar are in great trouble due to frequent power cut, disruption in internet supply and water cuts due to irresponsible work of Smart City projects being carried out in the area for the past one and half year alleged residents.
Sandeep Kalley of Poorva Residency said, “We had a small protest and to address our local Corporator and another Corporator Nana Kate visited us and also called smart city officer and contractor to understand our problems. Along with Poorva Residency we had representatives from Shivam and Shiv Sai Vishwa who are also facing lot of issues due to infrastructure breakdowns. We had detailed discussion with Chavhan who is managing the smart city project in our area and expressed our concerns to him. He has promised that major work will finish by Diwali and then there shouldn’t be any breakdown due to digging work, etc.”
Kalley further said, “Our major issue with MSEDCL remains unattended and our local leaders have promised to arrange meeting along with all society management committee heads to discuss problems we are facing and why MSEDCL is incapable to handle the problems. We are soon meeting MSEDCL officials. Due to infra breakdowns all residents are facing major issues due electricity outages and impacting our jobs and students exams since majority of people are working from home Also this is causing additional expenses on society due to breakdown in basic amenities like water, electricity, Piped Natural gas, Broadband etc.”
Sandeep Bhole, Shivam society said, “We have been facing severe issues regarding inadequate water supply, power supply cut, internet supply disruption, gas supply issues only because of the slow and negligent work carried out by the Smart City office. It has been over a year now that the problem reoccurs after every few days.”
Anand Chaudhary, chairman, Shiv Sai Vishwa informed that we have been facing severe problems due to power cut. It is becoming difficult to work from home with frequent power cuts. Also, the delayed smart city work is causing severe issues of break in gas supply, water supply. We have been assured by Palkar sir from Smart City that by Diwali our work will be done. We are hopeful that the assurances work in our favour soon.”
Nirmala Kute, local Corporator said, “I met the residents who are facing severe difficulty due to the negligent work of Smart City. Often due to digging work for smart city Development projects their water pipelines, electricity cables, internet cables are getting cut. This has become a common issue for them now.I have instructed the smart city officials to get the work at the earliest to avoid any further inconvenience to them. Also soon we shall be meeting the MSEDCL chief engineer to resolve their power cut issues.”
Naresh Jadhav, junior engineer, Smart City cell, PCMC on the issue commented, “We have resolved their water problem issue when the water pipeline suffered cut due to digging work. We have been cautious always while doing our work and resolve it as soon as possible.”
Nana Kate another Corporator of Pimple Saudagar remained unavailable for comment on the issue despite repeated phone calls.
