5916 people fined for not wearing mask in public places by PMC

Pune Municipal Corporation has been strictly taking action against those not wearing mask in public places. The action is intensified as the cases are rising in the city. Also a total number of 4657 people were fined for spitting in public places.

The state government had issued a circular stating that in view of the spread of Coronavirus it is made compulsory for all the citizens to wear masks and avoid spitting in public places which shall help in curbing further spread of the virus. Also a fine of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 is levied if a person violates the rule. Hence past few weeks the actions have been intensified with the PMC forming ward office level committees wherein anti encroachment cell officers and health and sanitisation officials have been given the right to take action against those violating the norms. Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol also informed that people should follow the rules and wear mask.
