With more professionals entering the job market, the competition is expected to intensify.
Nine out of 10 professionals (88%) in India are actively seeking new job roles in 2024.
Career exploration and change:
Nearly eight in 10 (79%) Indian employees express a willingness to explore opportunities outside their current industry or role. Desire for better work-life balance (42%) and the need for higher wages (37%) are among the top reasons cited for considering job changes.
Challenges in skill matching:
Professionals face challenges in matching their skills to desired job roles, with 45% expressing uncertainty in this aspect. Fast-paced changes in AI-related skills contribute to the difficulty in keeping up with evolving job requirements.
Changing job search strategies:
Frustration in the job search process is reported by 55% of professionals, and 59% experience infrequent responses from recruiters. A majority (72%) are adapting their job search strategies, and exploring new formats such as video and digital resumes.
AI Adoption for efficiency:
About 81% of professionals express interest in using AI to enhance the efficiency and productivity of their job hunt. Job search activity on the LinkedIn platform witnessed a 5% year-on-year increase in 2023.
