96% Land Acquired For Pune Ring Road, Work To Begin Soon
Land acquisition for the ambitious 169-km-long, 110-meter-wide Pune Ring Road project is nearing completion, with 96% of the land in the western region already acquired. As a result, construction work on one section of the project is expected to begin soon. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, will hold a review meeting shortly to finalize the project’s groundbreaking ceremony date.

- -West Region: 96% completed; remaining 4% acquisition underway. Â

- – Construction work is planned to start from the western section as soon as the land acquisition process is finalized.
- – The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is overseeing the project.
The Pune Ring Road project, delayed due to various administrative and electoral hurdles, has been a subject of public criticism. Officials assured that the groundbreaking ceremony will be finalized in the upcoming review meeting.
Additionally, Collector Dudi highlighted the push for digital governance, stating that 60% of Pune’s administrative offices now operate on the e-office system, with plans to achieve 100% implementation soon. This system aims to streamline processes, enhance transparency, and eliminate unnecessary delays in citizen services.
The Ring Road project is seen as a game-changer for Pune, expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the region.
