Pune Police Crackdown On Illegal Use Of Beam Lights During Dahi Handi Celebrations
The Pune Police have taken stern action against groups using beam lights and sharpie lights during Dahi Handi celebrations in Hadapsar area. Six individuals have been booked under relevant sections of the law for violating the injunction.
The action was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police- Zone 5, R.Raja, and Hadapsar Police Inspector, Santosh Pande. The police have registered cases against the accused for using laser lights, beam lights, and loudspeakers without permission.
According to the police, the violations were reported during Dahi Handi celebrations in Hadapsar. The accused individuals used beam lights and sharpie lights to accompany DJ music, posing a potential hazard to the public.
The police have registered six cases against the accused, including Prabhakar Pawar, Harshad Bhal Singh, Rakesh Chaudhary, Ganesh Yadav, Ajinkya Dhamal, Manoj Jagtap, Mahadev Khapane, Roshan Patil, Ashish Chavan, Aniket Jagtap, and Mohammad Ashiq.
On September 10, the Hadapsar Police Station seized six laser lights, beam lights, and speaker machines, and issued notices to the accused under Section 135(1)(a) of the Bombay Police Act. This crackdown aims to maintain law and order during festive celebrations and prevent potential hazards.
The Pune Police urge citizens to cooperate and adhere to the rules and regulations during festivals, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
