Pune Municipal Corporation Demolishes Illegal Constructions In Balewadi
On October 16, 2024, a joint operation was carried out by the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Building Development Department (Zone 3), with assistance from the police, to demolish unauthorized tin sheds and brick structures in the Balewadi area, including the Dussehra Chowk vicinity and the F Residency Society at Balewadi High Street.
During the operation, approximately 15,150 square feet of illegal construction was cleared. The action was conducted under the guidance of the Superintendent Engineer and Executive Engineer of the Building Development Department, Zone 3.
A team consisting of a Deputy Engineer, Junior Engineer, and other staff members, along with six police officers, two JCB machines, one gas cutter, and ten encroachment personnel, successfully removed the unauthorized tin sheds and brick constructions. The operation was completed efficiently with the help of this well-coordinated team.
This action reflects the commitment of the Pune Municipal Corporation to ensure that encroachments and illegal constructions do not hinder the city’s development and urban planning efforts.
