Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has asked all its academic and administrative departments to submit their budget estimates for the financial year 2025-2026. In a circular dated October 11, signed by finance and accounts officer Dr. Charusheela Gayake, the university emphasized that the annual budget must be prepared at least two months before the start of the new financial year. Departments have been instructed to submit their budget proposals by November 12.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Dr. Tukaram Rongate, head of the Marathi department, shared plans to introduce 20 new courses, including film writing, and additional initiatives such as displaying old Marathi documents and compiling the *Lokshahi* paper. These projects will require budgetary support.

Dr. Rajendra Mhaske, head of the psychology department, mentioned upcoming national and international conferences marking the department’s 75th anniversary, as well as new courses in line with the New Education Policy. Plans to introduce psychological assessment services were also highlighted.
