Watch Amaravati Drone Show: Five Guinness World Records set with 5,500 Drones at Punnami Ghat
India’s largest drone show mesmerizes thousands in Andhra Pradesh.
Vijayawada’s Punnami Ghat witnessed a breathtaking spectacle during the Amaravati Drone Summit 2024, where 5,500 drones took to the skies, setting five Guinness World Records. The show, which is now the largest drone display ever held in India, captivated over 8,000 visitors along the banks of the Krishna River and countless others via live stream across Vijayawada.

The drones formed iconic images, including the Indian national flag, an aeroplane, and a striking depiction of Lord Buddha. The impressive technological display was part of a larger two-day event aimed at showcasing the potential of drone technology in fields such as agriculture, infrastructure, and disaster management.
Records Broken
- Largest planetary structure: A formation of Earth.
- Largest riverbank landmark: An aerial depiction along the Krishna River.
- Largest aerial logo: A huge logo showcased in the sky.
- Largest national flag formation: A massive Indian flag made of drones.
- Largest aircraft formation: An enormous drone aircraft displayed overhead.
In addition to the drone display, the summit featured a hackathon, panel discussions, exhibitions, and a laser show. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, present at the event, lauded the initiative, saying, “This is the dusk that marked the dawn of the drone era in Andhra Pradesh, with the future hovering right above us—and it’s looking bright!”
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu also attended, supporting the state’s ambition to become a hub for drone innovation. Representatives from Guinness World Records were present to award certificates, officially recognising the record-breaking achievement.
