A recent security inspection by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) at the Ordnance Factory Varangaon (OFV) has revealed critical security concerns, following the theft of three AK-47 and two Israeli-made Galil rifles between October 19 and 21.

The IB, which conducts security audits of key defence establishments every five years, recommended modernizing security measures, including enhanced technology and strategic point coverage. The audit highlighted rusting fencing wire, watchtower conditions, and other infrastructure issues.

General Manager Mahesh Shinde confirmed this to media person and said that the factory is implementing measures to strengthen security, but details remain undisclosed.
