Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium was left in disarray after singer Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Dil-Luminati Tour 2024’ concert on October 26 and 27, sparking backlash from athletes over damages and disruption to their training. India’s middle-distance runner, Beant Singh, posted a video showing litter, alcohol bottles, and broken training equipment scattered across the grounds. Singh criticized the event organizers, noting the stadium would be inaccessible to athletes for at least 10 days due to the clean-up process.

Singh expressed frustration, saying the event highlighted the lack of respect and support for athletes in India. He emphasized his grievance was with the management rather than the singer himself. “This isn’t about the artist but the disregard for sports facilities,” he remarked.

Although the concert drew praise from fans, many criticized the event’s poor management. Issues included overcrowded entry and exit points, rapid sell-out of food and alcohol, and alleged ticket scalping. Some disgruntled fans even filed complaints, accusing organizers of consumer rights violations. Saregama India, the event’s organizer, is contractually obligated to restore the stadium by November 1.
