During this period, Loya lived out of friends’ apartments, slept on air mattresses and budgeted every dollar he could, all while losing essentials like his lease and health insurance. “It was an emotionally draining experience,” Loya wrote in his post, “but I stayed determined, treating my job search like a full-time role while making time for relaxation and hobbies to keep my spirits up.”
