Pune News: Three Arrested in Kondhwa With Four Pistols And Two Motorbikes Seized
Pune: As part of increased security measures around the assembly elections, police operations have intensified across various locations. In Kondhwa, police detained three individuals and seized four pistols, six cartridges, and two motorcycles, valued at ₹2.58 lakh. The arrested suspects have been identified as Swapnil Dagadu Bhilare (26, Vitthalwadi, Paud), Salman Sherkhan Mulani (34, Khatik Odha, Paud), and Aditya Sandeep Matre (19, Bharegaon, Mulshi), along with their underage accomplice who has been detained.
On November 12, Kondhwa police were patrolling the area when Head Constable Vishal Memane received information about four individuals carrying pistols on two motorcycles near Khadi Machine Chowk. Following instructions from Senior Inspector Vinay Patankar, a team including Sub-Inspector Balaji Dighole, and constables Memane, Satish Chavan, Nilesh Desai, Gorakhnath Chinake, Sujit Madan, Laxman Holkar, and Santosh Bansude apprehended the group. During the search, a country-made pistol was found on Swapnil Dagadu Bhilare’s person, and three additional pistols and cartridges were recovered from the motorcycle’s compartment. This operation was led by Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar with officials Ranjan Kumar Sharma, R. Raja, Suraj Bendre, Rauf Sheikh, Lekhaji Shinde, Suraj Shukla, Sagar Bhosale, and Shahid Sheikh.
Police Vigilance Intensified:
With the assembly elections approaching, Pune Police have heightened security, conducting foot patrols and cracking down on illegal activities. Special focus is being given to tracking habitual offenders, narcotics dealers, and those carrying weapons. Under the orders of Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, various crime branch teams are taking action, guided by Additional Commissioner of Crime Branch Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Pingle, and Assistant Commissioner Ganesh Ingle.
