In a notable ruling, a fraudulent doctor who was practicing without a valid medical degree received a two-year rigorous imprisonment sentence from the Khadki Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Court.

The court, led by Magistrate L.V. Shrikhande, also ordered the accused, Milankumar Amar Thakur (34), a Dhanori resident originally from West Bengal, to pay a fine of ₹2,000. If Thakur fails to pay the fine, he will face an additional 15 days in prison.

Thakur was convicted for treating patients without the necessary medical qualifications. The investigation was prompted by a tip-off received by the Pune Municipal Corporation’s health department.
