The shocking incident led to the arrest of the driver and his associates, while the victim sustained injuries during the horrifying ordeal.

In a disturbing road rage incident in Maharashtra’s Pimpri-Chinchwad township, a motorcyclist was dragged on the bonnet of an Audi car for over three kilometers following an argument on Sunday evening. The police have arrested Kamlesh Patil (23), the car driver, along with his two associates, Hemant Mhalaskar (26) and Prathamesh Darade (22), all occupants of the high-end vehicle.

The complainant, Zakeria Mathew, 23, was riding his motorcycle with his friend Aniket as a pillion rider near Bijlinagar when their two-wheeler was rear-ended by the Audi. Mathew approached the car to seek an explanation, but a heated argument broke out. The three accused, along with an unidentified female passenger in the car, allegedly abused and physically assaulted Mathew and his friend.

In a shocking turn, the driver, Kamlesh, attempted to run over Mathew, who clung to the car’s bonnet to save himself. Kamlesh then drove recklessly, dragging Mathew for over three kilometers, from Akurdi Railway Station’s Sambhaji Chowk to Bijlinagar. The ordeal ended only when the car stopped to drop off the female passenger.

Police arrested the suspects hours after the incident. Kamlesh Patil, the driver, is from Chinchwad, while his associates Hemant and Prathamesh hail from Talegaon Dabhade and Walhekarwadi, respectively. The car involved is owned by Darade’s brother.

Nigdi Police Station has filed a case under Sections 109, 115(2), 352, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)

Blood samples of the accused have been sent for testing to determine if they were under the influence of alcohol. Preliminary evidence suggests alcohol consumption, but the police are awaiting laboratory confirmation.

Mathew sustained injuries in the incident and is recovering. Police have registered a case against the accused for assault, reckless endangerment, and possible charges related to alcohol consumption while driving.
