Breaking: Allu Arjun arrested in connection with the death of a woman during a stampede at the Pushpa 2

Hyderabad Police have arrested Telugu actor Allu Arjun in connection with a stampede that claimed the life of a woman during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4. The incident occurred at Sandhya Theatre, located at RTC Crossroads, where a massive crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the star.

The victim, identified as 35-year-old Revathi, reportedly succumbed to asphyxiation. Her nine-year-old son, Sri Teja, was also hospitalized for breathing difficulties and is currently recovering.

A team from the Chikkadpally police station detained Allu Arjun from his residence in Jubilee Hills and took him for questioning. Police have filed a case against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint from Revathi’s family.

Second Death Reported

In an unrelated incident, a second fan, 35-year-old Harijana Madhannappa, was found dead on Monday evening at a theatre in Rayadurgam. The man, who had attended the matinee show intoxicated, was discovered by cleaning staff. Authorities are investigating the cause of his death.

Allu Arjun’s Legal Response

The actor has filed a plea in the High Court seeking to quash the FIR and stay further proceedings, including his arrest. The court is expected to hear the matter soon. Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has announced financial assistance of ₹25 lakh for Revathi’s family.
