Indian badminton icon and two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is all set to embark on a new chapter in her life. The 28-year-old athlete got engaged to businessman Venkata Datta Sai in an intimate ceremony on Saturday, December 14. The engagement featured a charming “Miss to Mrs” theme, with Sindhu quoting Khalil Gibran on Instagram: “When love beckons to you, follow him, for love gives nought but itself.”
Wedding Details
The couple will tie the knot on December 22 in a grand ceremony in Udaipur, with pre-wedding festivities beginning on December 20. A lavish reception is planned in Hyderabad on December 24, following the nuptials. The event is expected to witness the presence of prominent personalities, including Sachin Tendulkar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, shared that the engagement was arranged promptly to accommodate Sindhu’s packed sporting calendar. “This was the only possible window as her schedule will become hectic from January,” he said.
