SpiceJet Flight from Pune to Goa Delayed by 9 Hours, Ruins Christmas Plans for Passengers
A SpiceJet flight from Pune to Goa was delayed by nearly 9 hours on Wednesday, leaving over 100 passengers frustrated and disappointed, particularly those who had planned to celebrate Christmas in Goa.
The flight, SG-185, was scheduled to depart from Pune at 12:25 pm but finally took off at 9:15 pm. Passengers were informed about the delay through a series of messages, with the airline citing technical issues and crew replacement as the reasons.
Aniket L Pande, a passenger traveling with his wife and six-year-old child, expressed his disappointment and frustration. “We reached the airport at 10 am, and our whole Christmas plan has been ruined now. The ground staff told us that they had placed a request for a replacement crew, and later, we were informed that the aircraft had suffered a technical snag,” he said.
Another passenger, Kanika Verma, who had traveled from Delhi to Pune on the same aircraft, reported that the flight had encountered major turbulence 20 minutes before landing in Pune, injuring a cabin crew member.
A SpiceJet spokesperson attributed the delay to turbulence encountered during the Delhi-Pune flight, which resulted in minor injuries to some cabin crew members. The spokesperson stated that the aircraft landed safely in Pune, and passengers disembarked normally whole communicating with media person.
Passengers were provided with refreshments during the delay, but many expressed frustration and disappointment at the lack of clarity on flight’s departure time.
The incident has left many passengers questioning the airline’s efficiency and customer service, particularly during peak travel seasons like Christmas.
