However, upon verification, it was found that the incident actually took place in January 2011 in Nainital, Uttarakhand. The tiger involved was reportedly a man-eater and was eventually killed by forest officials. Reports indicate that it took a team with seven elephants and 32 rounds of ammunition to bring down the tiger.
The resurfaced video has faced significant backlash from various individuals, including television actress Kavita Kaushik, who criticized the treatment of the tiger. She expressed her outrage by stating, “This is beyond cruel, it’s actually evil! Isn’t this illegal at the very least?” She tagged PETA India, PETA, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in her post, calling for action to safeguard animals from human cruelty.

In response to the viral footage, Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan clarified that it is an old video from 2011, filmed in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. He explained that the tiger had killed six people and was subsequently hunted down by authorities. The tiger was transported on an elephant because vehicles were unable to reach the area.
