Pune Crime News: Paan Stall Operator In Wakad Arrested For Selling Ganja; Police Seize Over 5 Kg
Pimpri-Chinchwad: Wakad Police have arrested a paan stall operator for selling ganja in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area. The accused, identified as Punitkumar Vivek Shetty, was caught with 5.1 kilograms of ganja.
According to the police, stringent monitoring of drug peddlers was undertaken in light of the New Year celebrations, as instances of substance abuse tend to rise during this period. Information was received that Punitkumar was selling ganja from his Sai Shri Paan Shop. After confirming the details, police conducted a raid, leading to his arrest and the seizure of the contraband.
A case has been registered under the NDPS Act Sections 8(c) and 20(b) at the Wakad Police Station. Further investigations are underway.
