Pune News: Husband Attempts Suicide After Stabbing Wife During Family Dispute in Baner Hotel
Pune: A shocking incident unfolded in Baner where a husband stabbed his wife during a family dispute and then attempted to take his own life. Both the husband and wife sustained severe injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The injured individuals are residents of Vishnunagar, Chembur, Mumbai. A complaint regarding the incident was lodged at the Chatushrungi Police Station.
According to the police, the tempo driver often had disputes with his wife over family matters. The couple had come to Pune to visit their wife’s relatives, who reside in the Baner area, and were staying at a hotel nearby. On the morning of January 13, a heated argument broke out between them in their hotel room.
During the argument, the husband attacked wife with a knife and then inflicted injuries on his own neck and abdomen. Hearing the commotion, hotel staff rushed to the scene and found the couple in a critical condition. They were immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the attack stemmed from a family dispute. Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi visited the scene, and Assistant Police Inspector Anil Kekaan is conducting further investigations.
