Pimpri-Chinchwad: A shocking incident unfolded in Nigdi where three individuals assaulted police officers patrolling the area. The attack occurred when the officers attempted to stop a brawl between the accused.

Police Havaldar Pravin Kamble has filed a complaint at Nigdi Police Station. Based on the complaint, the accused—Pramod Prakash Sakhare (26) from Ravet, Vaibhav Bhausaheb Tupe (28) from Nigdi, and Ajay Babasaheb Pol (21) from Nigdi—were arrested.

According to the police, Havaldar Kamble and his team were patrolling the Nigdi area when they noticed the accused involved in a fight. When the officers intervened, the suspects attacked them, knocking Kamble to the ground and assaulting him with kicks and punches. One officer’s finger was also twisted by the accused, who allegedly taunted, “Police are too arrogant these days.”

Senior officials, including Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Doiphode, Assistant Commissioner of Police Vishal Hire, and Police Inspectors Vijay Dhamal and Shatrughna Mali, promptly arrived at the scene. The accused were detained and taken to the crime branch office, where they reportedly caused further disruptions.

Pramod and Vaibhav allegedly banged their heads against the wall and damaged office property, while also threatening the officers, saying, “We’ll deal with all of you.” The Nigdi Police are conducting a detailed investigation into the matter.
