Maharashtra: MPSC Delays Exam For Superintendent Posts, Leaving Students Frustrated And Uncertain
The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has delayed the examination for Superintendent posts, leaving students frustrated and uncertain about their future. The notification for recruitment to these posts was published on October 21, 2022, but two years have passed, and the exam is yet to be conducted.
The demand for 65 vacant posts in the School Education and Sports Department was sent to MPSC after a 10-year wait. After the notification was released, students applied for the posts between October 25 and November 4, 2022. However, the syllabus for the exam was not released until March 21, 2024, after persistent follow-ups by students.
Despite the release of the syllabus, the MPSC’s exam schedule for 2025 does not mention the Superintendent exam, leaving students wondering if the commission has forgotten about it. Students are frustrated with the delay, which has affected their preparation and planning for the exam.
Suvarna Kharat, Secretary, MPSC, said while talking to the media person that the delay is due to a change in the SEBC reservation rules, which was included in the 2022 advertisement. The state government is yet to finalize this matter, and the exams will be conducted once it is resolved.
Students are disappointed with the delay and the lack of communication from MPSC. One student, said on the condition of anonymity, “The release of the exam schedule will provide direction for our preparation and help in planning our studies. We urge MPSC to immediately release the exam schedule for the Superintendent position.”
The delay has not only affected students but also raised questions about the efficiency of MPSC and the state government. With the exam schedule for 2025 already published, students are left wondering if they will ever get to take the exam.
