Pune: In a series of swift operations, Bavdhan police arrested five individuals and seized a cache of weapons, including three pistols, five live cartridges, and six machetes. The arrested individuals have been identified as Adesh Ram Temkar (24), Hari Mahadev Pawar, Sumit Sanjay Karekar, Ganesh alias Gudya Anil Patekar (23), and Keshav Tryambak Kale. A juvenile accomplice was also taken into custody.

Details of the Operations: 
Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishal Gaikwad shared details of the operations:

  1. January 9, 2025: During a night patrol, police intercepted a vehicle and recovered a pistol, one cartridge, and marijuana. Keshav Kale was arrested in connection with this case.
  2. January 13, 2025: Police stopped another vehicle with tinted windows during routine patrol. A search revealed a pistol, two live cartridges, four machetes, and a dagger. Sumit Karekar was arrested following the seizure.
  3. Subsequent Arrests: In another operation, Hari Mahadev Pawar was apprehended with a pistol and two live cartridges. Upon interrogation, Karekar and Pawar admitted that the weapons were obtained from a notorious criminal, Adesh Ram Temkar, leading to Temkar’s arrest.
  4. Final Crackdown: Police detained Ganesh Patekar and the juvenile accomplice while they were wielding machetes to spread fear in the area. Two machetes were confiscated.
