Maharashtra Road Accident: Four Dead as Car Plunges into Well in Ahilyanagar
Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra (January 15, 2025): A tragic road accident in Jamwadi village, Jamkhed taluka, claimed the lives of four people on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. when a Bolero car veered off an under-construction road and plunged into a water-filled well.
The deceased have been identified as Ashok Vitthal Shelke (29), Ramhari Gangadhar Shelke (35), Kishor Mohan Pawar (30), and Chakrapani Sunil Barskar (25). According to initial reports, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to loose gravel on the road.
The well, which lacked protective barriers, became the site of the accident. Local residents, along with the police and fire department, worked together to retrieve the car and the bodies using a crane. The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.
The incident has plunged the village into mourning, with residents expressing grief and frustration over the lack of adequate road safety measures in the area.
