The Pune Rural Police have dismantled an inter-state gang of robbers who targeted an elderly man at an ATM, seizing 147 ATM cards and recovering stolen cash. The accused had threatened a 56-year-old resident of Bhor taluka, forcing him to withdraw ₹50,000 from his bank account.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Inspector Rajesh Gawali intercepted a suspicious vehicle at the Khed Shivapur toll post on Friday. One suspect, Adil Khan (30), managed to flee, but three others—Samun Ramzan (36) from Haryana, and Nasruddin Khan (30) and Badshah Khan (24) from Uttar Pradesh—were apprehended. Police confiscated their car, ₹50,000 in cash, and the large cache of ATM cards.

The incident began at an Axis Bank ATM at Kondhanpur Phata, where the robbers threatened Madhavrao Jalalwad with a knife and forced him to withdraw ₹500 in their presence. Pretending to return his card, the gang retained it and later withdrew ₹50,000 using the stolen card.
