The Charaideo Moidams, an ancient burial mound system dating back 700 years from the Ahom dynasty in Assam, has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. These structures are often referred to as the ‘Pyramids of Assam.’

The list included an image of the Kamakhya Temple, situated in Guwahati. This temple is among the oldest of the 51 Shakti Peeths. What sets it apart is the absence of a traditional idol of the Goddess, which is common in most Hindu temples.

Instead, devotees worship a natural stone resembling a yoni (female genitalia). Additionally, the temple honors the menstrual cycle of the Goddess.

Assam boasts numerous tea estates, including several that are renowned, historic, and widely favored.
