Pune: A cyclist from Kalyani Nagar sustained severe injuries due to a poorly managed wire hanging dangerously at the Nagar Road underpass, connecting Bishops School and Airport Road. The incident has raised concerns about the negligence in maintaining public infrastructure.

According to eyewitnesses, the wire was left hanging in the underpass, posing a significant hazard to commuters. While cycling through the underpass, the victim’s bicycle handle got entangled in the wire, causing him to fall and suffer serious injuries.

Concerned residents have highlighted the urgency of addressing this issue to prevent further mishaps. “The hanging wire is a clear hazard, and this accident could have been avoided with timely intervention,” said a local resident.

The incident underscores the importance of maintaining public spaces and ensuring safety measures are in place. Residents are urging civic authorities to take immediate action to remove such obstructions and conduct a thorough inspection of other potentially hazardous areas in the city to avoid further accidents.
