Pune: PMPML Driver Fatally Run Over After Chasing PMC Garbage Truck In Pune
Pune: On January 24, 2025, around 9:00 a.m., a minor accident occurred at Samvidhan Chowk in the Wanowrie police station jurisdiction. A PMPML bus (MH-14-6009) collided with a Pune Municipal Corporation garbage truck, resulting in damage to the left mirror of the bus. The garbage truck driver fled the scene without stopping.
The PMPML driver, Sanjay Machhindra Deshmukh, pursued the truck on a motorcycle, stopping it near Sangres High School Road. While taking photographs of the vehicle, the garbage truck driver, Rajat Kishor Babhulkar (28), allegedly started the truck, fatally running over Deshmukh.
The accused driver and vehicle are in custody, and further investigation is underway.
