Pune PMPML Introduces Three New Systems For Passengers On Republic Day
Pune: Marking the 76th Republic Day, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) launched three passenger-centric systems to enhance commuter convenience. The inauguration was led by PMPML Chairperson and Managing Director, Dipa Mudhol-Munde, during the Republic Day ceremony at the Swargate Administrative Office, attended by key officials and staff.
Key Initiatives Launched
- “Aapli PMPML” App iOS Version
The “Aapli PMPML” mobile app, initially launched on August 15, 2024, for Android users, is now available on iOS. The new version addresses repeated requests from passengers, ensuring access to real-time bus information for both Android and iOS users. - Web Version of Live Bus Tracking System
Until now, passengers could track bus locations only through the mobile app. With the web version introduced at the Swargate Command Control Center, PMPML staff can now assist passengers directly with real-time bus locations in case of delays, complaints, or emergencies. - LED Boards and Next Stop Announcement System in PMPML-Owned Buses
PMPML-owned buses are now equipped with repaired and functional LED route boards and next-stop announcement systems. Initially implemented at the Swargate Depot, these systems improve route visibility and provide timely announcements of upcoming stops, significantly enhancing the travel experience.
Cost-Effective Implementation
The PMPML IT department created an in-house team to repair LED boards, significantly reducing costs. This initiative demonstrates PMPML’s commitment to innovation and resource efficiency.
Commitment to Passenger-Friendly Services
With these systems, PMPML reaffirms its dedication to improving public transportation services in Pune. Passengers can now enjoy better accessibility, convenience, and a seamless travel experience.
