Bengaluru, January 28, 2025 – Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys, along with former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Director Balaram and 16 others, has been booked under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act, police in Bengaluru confirmed on January 27. The case, filed at Sadashiva Nagar police station, stems from a complaint by Durgappa, a faculty member from the IISc’s Centre for Sustainable Technology.

Durgappa, a member of the Bovi tribal community, alleges he was falsely implicated in a honey trap in 2014, leading to his dismissal from service. He further claims to have been subjected to caste-based abuse and threats.

The case was initiated following a directive from the 71st city civil and sessions court, and includes prominent figures such as Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, and several others. As of now, there has been no public statement from IISc or Kris Gopalakrishnan regarding the allegations.
