Pune: Pimpri Chinchwad Police Busts Trafficking Racket In Hinjawadi, Rescues Four Thai Women
Pimpri-Chinchwad: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit has rescued four Thai women from a prostitution racket operating in Hinjawadi, Pune’s IT hub. A foreign female agent running the operation has been arrested and handed over to Hinjewadi Police for further investigation.
According to reports, the accused lured the victims with promises of high earnings and forced them into prostitution. The racket was being run via WhatsApp, where the agent shared photos of the women and arranged meetings at rented villas in Lonavala.
Acting on a tip-off, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit sent a decoy customer to bust the operation. The accused was instructed to bring the Thai women to Surya Villa in Kasarsai. At around 11 PM, police raided the premises, arrested the agent, and rescued the victims.
Authorities seized a mobile phone and other materials worth ₹20,000 from the accused. Hinjawadi Police are continuing further investigations. The operation was carried out under the guidance of Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissioner Vinoy Chaubey, joint commissioner Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional commissioner Vasant Pardeshi, DCP Sandeep Doifode, ACP Vishal Hire, SPI Digambar Suryawanshi, with a team comprising Sambhaji Jadhav, Bhagwant Muthe, Mukund Ware, Shraddha Bhargude, Maruti Karchunde, Ganesh Karote, Sunil Shirsat, Neelam Buchade, and Sangita Jadhav.
