Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his family are set to temporarily move out of their iconic residence, Mannat, as the bungalow undergoes extensive renovation. The family will shift to a luxury apartment in Bandra’s Pali Hill area, paying a monthly rent of ₹24 lakh.
Renovation Plans for Mannat
Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s residence for over 25 years, has become a landmark and a popular tourist attraction in Mumbai. However, sources reveal that major renovation work is scheduled to begin in May, including a long-proposed extension for which Shah Rukh had to secure legal permissions. Since Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, any structural modifications require approvals, which have now been obtained.
New Residence in Pali Hill
During the renovation, Shah Rukh, along with his wife Gauri and children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam, will move into a high-end apartment in Pali Hill. The four-floor property has been leased from film producer Vashu Bhagnani. According to reports, Red Chillies Entertainment signed a leave and license agreement with Bhagnani’s son, actor Jackky Bhagnani, and daughter, Deepshika Deshmukh, who co-own the property Puja Casa.
The leased space includes two duplex apartments spread across the first, second, seventh, and eighth floors. The arrangement provides ample space for the family, their security team, and office work. Though the apartment is not as spacious as Mannat, efforts are being made to ensure security and privacy.
Duration of Stay
While the lease agreement is for three years, sources indicate that the family may stay for around two years, as the renovation work at Mannat is expected to take considerable time.
Shah Rukh Khan’s relocation marks a significant shift for the actor and his family, albeit a temporary one, as they prepare to return to their iconic home after its transformation.
