Pune: Due to an increase in supply, the prices of garlic, cauliflower, cabbage, and drumsticks have decreased by 10-15%, while other vegetable prices remain stable, according to traders.
On Sunday, the wholesale market at Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Market Yard saw an influx of 90 trucks of vegetables from within Maharashtra and other states. This included 7-8 tempos of green chilies from Karnataka, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh; 3-4 tempos of cabbage from Karnataka and Gujarat; and 5-6 tempos of drumsticks from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Additionally, 10-12 tempos of garlic arrived from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the prices of leafy greens like fenugreek, coriander, spring onions, radish, and spinach have increased. The supply included 90,000 bundles of coriander and 50,000 bundles of fenugreek.
Fruit prices have also seen a shift due to rising demand in summer. Watermelons, muskmelons, papayas, and lemons have become costlier, with prices increasing by ₹2-₹5 per kg for fruits and ₹200 per sack for lemons. However, the prices of pineapples, oranges, sweet limes, pomegranates, and sapodillas have remained stable.
