Mundhwa to Get Town Planning Scheme; Proposal Gains Momentum

Pune Municipal Corporation Launches ‘Rangyatra’ App For Online Booking Of Cultural Centers
Pune: A proposal to implement a Town Planning (TP) scheme in certain underdeveloped areas of Mundhwa has been placed before the city improvement committee by Pune Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale.
Despite being included in the city’s development plan (DP), areas such as Survey No. 45 to 48 and 64 to 70 have not seen adequate growth. To address this, the commissioner has recommended the TP scheme’s approval to ensure planned development.
The proposal is set to be reviewed by the city improvement committee on Thursday, March 5. However, since the municipal corporation is currently under an administrator, approval is almost certain. The lack of proper development has caused several difficulties for residents, prompting former BJP corporator Umesh Gaikwad to write to the commissioner, demanding the TP scheme’s implementation.
Key Area Allocations in TP Scheme
The scheme will cover a total of 7,50,000 square meters in Mundhwa:
- 1,732 square meters for already approved constructions
- 1,10,000 square meters for roads
- 43,500 square meters for reserved spaces
- 11,800 square meters for industrial reservations
Why Now?
The discussion around the TP scheme has sparked debate, as this demand has existed for years. With municipal elections delayed and an administrator in charge, the sudden push for the proposal has raised questions within the administration.
