Pune: Traffic Restrictions Imposed In Kondhwa For Ramadan; Heavy Vehicles Banned In Key Areas
Pune, March 11, 2025: In light of the ongoing Ramadan celebrations, the Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic restrictions in the Kondhwa area to manage congestion and ensure smooth vehicle movement. The restrictions will be in place from March 11, 2025, until the end of Ramadan, between 5 PM and 12:00 AM daily.
Traffic Diversions And Bans
Under the directive of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende, heavy vehicles and water tankers will be restricted in key congestion points, including:
- Jyoti Hotel Chowk to Mayfair Junction towards Parge Nagar
- Heavy vehicles and water tankers prohibited.
- Alternate Route: Vehicles must take Jyoti Hotel Chowk to Sheetal Chowk to Parge Nagar.
- Parge Nagar to Mayfair Junction towards Jyoti Hotel
- Heavy vehicles and water tankers prohibited.
- Alternate Route: Vehicles must take Parge Nagar Chowk to Sheetal Chowk to Jyoti Hotel Chowk.
- Sarvodaya Junction Chowk towards Kausarbaug
- Heavy vehicles and water tankers prohibited.
- Alternate Route: Vehicles must take Mayfair Junction to Jyoti Hotel Chowk.
Public Feedback Invited
Residents can submit their suggestions or objections regarding these traffic changes at the Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Control Branch, Pune (Bungalow No. 6, Jail Road, Yerwada Post Office) between March 10 and March 25, 2025.
The final traffic plan will be implemented after considering public feedback while ensuring that emergency services such as fire brigade, police vehicles, and ambulances remain unaffected.
The Pune Traffic Police have requested citizens’ cooperation to maintain order and ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the Ramadan festive period.
