Scared After Meerut ‘Cement Murder’, UP Man Marries Off Wife to Her Lover

Uttar Pradesh: In a bizarre and chilling case, a man from Uttar Pradesh arranged his wife’s marriage to her lover, fearing that he might be killed in a similar fashion to recent high-profile murders.
The decision was influenced by the gruesome case in Meerut, where a woman and her lover allegedly killed her husband, dismembered his body, and concealed it in a cement-filled drum. Another incident in Auraiya, where a couple hired a contract killer, further reinforced the man’s fears.
Bablu, a resident of Katar Jot Village in Sant Kabir Nagar, was married to Radhika from Gorakhpur district since 2017, and the couple has two children. Working as a laborer in another state, Bablu discovered that Radhika was involved in an affair with Vikas, a man from their village, for over 18 months. Instead of confronting her, he observed her actions and then approached the village elders for a resolution.
Choosing an unconventional solution, Bablu decided to arrange Radhika’s marriage to Vikas in a traditional Hindu ceremony at a Shiva temple. He also became a witness to the marriage and ensured its legal recognition. Following the wedding, Bablu took custody of his children, opting to raise them alone.
Videos of the ceremony, now viral on social media, show Radhika surrounded by villagers and her children as Vikas applies sindoor to her forehead after exchanging garlands. Bablu can be seen posing for a photograph with the newlywed couple.
‘Wanted To Avoid Harm’
When questioned about his unusual decision, Bablu told PTI, “I arranged their marriage to protect myself. Recently, we’ve heard of cases where husbands were killed by their wives. After hearing about the incident in Meerut, I decided to marry my wife off to her lover so we could both live peacefully.”
Regarding the legality of the marriage, since he and Radhika were not officially divorced, Bablu stated that it was conducted with the villagers’ consent and without any family objections.
The incident has sparked debates on social media, with many expressing shock at Bablu’s extreme step.
