Alandi: To enhance cleanliness and improve the experience of thousands of devotees, the Alandi Municipal Council has introduced nighttime road cleaning. This initiative aims to keep the surroundings of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Temple, the pradakshina route, and key town roads cleaner without disrupting pilgrim movement.

Alandi witnesses heavy morning footfall as devotees gather for darshan and pradakshina. Previously, road cleaning operations began at 7 am, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to visitors. To address this, the council has shifted the cleaning schedule to nighttime, ensuring clean roads without affecting peak-hour movement.

Chief Officer Madhav Khandekar stated that the nighttime cleaning will take place from 8 pm to midnight, covering major routes such as the temple premises, Alandi Municipal Road to Y Junction, Y Junction to Chakan Chowk, Chakan Chowk to Vadgaon Chowk, Vadgaon Chowk to Markal Chowk, Markal Chowk to the Police Station, and the Police Station to the Municipal Council office.

Residents have been urged to cooperate by disposing of waste in designated collection vehicles. The council will enforce strict waste segregation and impose penalties on those found dumping garbage in public areas.
