Residents of Purva Silversands, Keshav Nagar, came together on May 4 for a successful Tree Plantation Drive, celebrating a collective commitment to a greener future. The event saw the gracious presence of MLA Chetan Tupe (Hadapsar), whose participation significantly energized the initiative.

Adding personal meaning to the occasion, the plantation drive coincided with the birthday of Ishaan Tupe, son of Chetan Tupe. This symbolic celebration drew heartfelt engagement from residents and guests alike.

Distinguished guests included Devendra Bhaat – NCP Leader & Social Activist; Director, Pune Cantonment Sahakari Bank Ltd, Mayur Khalase – Government-Appointed Corporator, Dr Shantanu Jagdale – President, Hadapsar Assembly, NCP, Santosh Pakhare – Former Gram Panchayat Member, Keshav Nagar, Ganesh Dhakane – Pradesh Sarchitnis, NCP.

During the event, Keshav Nagar residents voiced pressing civic issues, including:

  • Stalled bridge construction
  • Irregular water supply
  • Poor road conditions
  • Absence of a garbage depot
  • Pending proposals for a public garden and jogging track
  • Sanitation concerns

The community urged Tupe to facilitate swift action and proposed a joint site visit with PMC officials and society representatives. In response, Tupe acknowledged each concern and assured the gathering of a scheduled meeting with the new PMC Commissioner to define specific timelines and solutions.

A key contributor to the drive’s success was Devendra Bhaat, a known grassroots leader and staunch advocate for civic welfare in Keshav Nagar. His coordination and outreach across housing societies played a crucial role in organizing the event.
