Pune Airport: 13 Flights Cancelled on May 8 Due to Operation Sindoor and Airspace Restrictions

Pune, May 8, 2025 — A total of 13 flights were cancelled at Pune Airport on Thursday amid nationwide disruptions triggered by Operation Sindoor and the temporary suspension of air traffic at several destination airports due to escalating India-Pakistan tensions. The cancellations affected IndiGo and SpiceJet services, severely impacting connectivity to cities like Amritsar, Cochin, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and more.
In an official statement, Pune Airport authorities informed all passengers and stakeholders about the disruptions, which occurred between 12:00 AM and 8:00 PM. “The cancellations are a direct consequence of broader operational limitations due to Operation Sindoor and the closure of certain destination airports,” said Airport Director Santosh Dhoke. “We regret the inconvenience caused and have coordinated with all stakeholders to minimise the impact.”

Airport authorities confirmed that all affected passengers were notified through airline partners, public announcements, and digital platforms. “Passengers were assisted in accordance with DGCA guidelines,” added Dhoke. “They were offered full refunds or alternate travel options, and our airport teams were on the ground to provide support.”
