Giant Python Spotted in Navi Mumbai Floodwaters, Shocking Video Goes Viral
Navi Mumbai Viral Video: A large and venomous python was spotted moving through rainwater on the streets of Navi Mumbai, and a video capturing the incident has gone viral on social media. The sight of the snake has left viewers stunned and alarmed.
The monsoon has made an early and intense arrival in Maharashtra this year. Even during the first showers, Mumbai has already experienced major disruptions. In Navi Mumbai, several areas were waterlogged due to the rain. Amid this waterlogging, a massive python was seen swimming through the stagnant rainwater.
In the viral video, the flooded road is clearly visible, with a large green python emerging from the water. The reptile is seen lifting its head above the surface, creating a terrifying scene. Just imagine walking through such water and accidentally stepping on a snake—an encounter that could easily lead to a bite. People in the area were visibly frightened and were seen standing back along the roadside, wary of the snake.
Experts note that rainwater often enters the burrows of reptiles during the monsoon, forcing them to come out in search of drier areas. Snakes, in particular, tend to leave their habitats during rains to find safer shelter. This results in a significant rise in snake sightings during the monsoon season.
Every year, there are numerous snakebite incidents during the monsoon, some of which tragically result in fatalities. Hence, it is crucial to stay vigilant throughout the rainy season, right up until winter begins. Precautions should be taken to avoid snakebites, especially in rural and farming areas.
Delays in receiving treatment due to lack of transportation, distant hospitals, or unavailability of anti-venom can turn snakebites fatal. As such, farmers and residents in rural areas must exercise extra caution during this season.
