Pune: PMRDA Begins Land Acquisition For 150 New Roads And Reserved Plots To Boost Infrastructure

Pune: Government Approves 4 PMRDA Town Planning Schemes, Speeds Up Ring Road Development
Pune, June 4, 2025:Â In a major push to improve infrastructure and reduce traffic congestion across the Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR), the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has begun the process of acquiring land for 150 proposed roads and approximately 85 hectares of reserved plots from May 28 onwards.
The initiative, which spans across key talukas such as Maval, Haveli, Mulshi, and Shirur, is aimed at facilitating planned urban development within PMR’s vast jurisdiction of 6,246.26 square kilometres.
To execute the plan efficiently, PMRDA has floated a tender to appoint a consultant who will oversee the complete land acquisition process, covering both road corridors and plots reserved for urban infrastructure.
According to the Request for Proposal (RFP), the selected consultant will be responsible for all legal and procedural steps required to complete land acquisition, including compulsory acquisition, direct purchase, and procedures under the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
The consultant’s scope of work includes conducting revenue and cadastral surveys, preparing land acquisition proposals, calculating compensation for impacted properties (including structures, trees, and wells), and supporting joint measurement surveys. Additionally, they will coordinate with local authorities and revenue officials to ensure smooth execution.
The consultancy contract will be valid for 30 months, and the appointed firm must begin work within 15 days of being selected. Interested firms must submit their bids online by June 6, 2025.
