Pune, 13 June 2025: Pune Warriors defeated Solapur Smashers by five wickets in a dress rehearsal of the Adani Women’s Premier League final, scheduled for June 14 at the MCA International Stadium here on Thursday.

Led by India international Anuja Patil, Pune Warriors won all six league games. Opting to field first, Pune restricted Solapur to 105 for 8 and then chased down the target with ease, with five wickets and 9 balls to spare. 

Pacer Chinmayee Borpale (3 for 22 in 4 overs) and skipper Anuja Patil (3 for 15 in 3), bowling her off-breaks, rattled the Solapur innings. Borpale claimed the wickets of the Solapur opener Ishwari Awsare (10, 13b, 1×4), skipper Tejal Hasabnis (0, 1b) and lower-order batter Nikita Singh (6, 5b, 1×4).

Balwadkar

Ishwari Savkar (44, 46b, 2x4s, 1×6) was the lone bright spot in Solapur’s innings. Pune skipper Anuja bagged the wicket of Ishwari Savkar, Shalmali Kshatriya (14, 17b, 2×4), and Aachal Agarwal (0, 2b).

In response, opener Suhani Kahandal played an unbeaten knock of 43 (49b, 3x4s) to hold one end. She was ably supported by skipper Anuja (22, 24b, 3x4s) as the duo ensured that Pune Warriors ended the league campaign on a high. 

For Solapur smashers, offie Mukta Magre (2 for 18 in 4) and left-arm spinner Aarti Kedar (2 for 17 in 3.3) were the pick of the bowlers.

Raigad end campaign with a win

In another match, Raigad Royals ended their WMPL campaign with a victory, their first and only win of the tournament, with a 17-run win over Ratnagiri Jets.

Asked to bat first, Raigad’s innings folded for 106 in 19.4 overs. Raigad captain Kiran Navgire top-scored for her side with 37 off 20 balls, laced with four fours and two sixes. Aaditi Gaikwad (23, 29b, 1×4) also played a handy knock. Office Priyanka Ghodke starred with the ball for Ratnagiri, picking up a fifer (5-10 in 3.4 overs).

However, playing without skipper and India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, Ratnagiri crumbled and could only score 89 for 9 from their 20 overs.

Raigad Royals: 106 all out in 19.4 overs (Kiran Navgire 37, Aaditi Gaikwad 23; Priyanka Ghodke 5-10) beat Ratnagiri Jets: 89 for 9 in 20 (Rasika Shinde 29, Gautami Naik 22; Isha Pathare 2-14) by 17 runs.
