Pune, July 14, 2025: The black market of counterfeit medicines has come under the scanner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). After fake medicines were seized from a hospital in Wanawadi, Pune, a case has been registered against the owner of Pratima Pharmaceuticals and three others in Shikrapur.

In March 2025, the FDA seized counterfeit medicines from a Wanwadi hospital.  Investigations revealed that the medicines were manufactured at Pratima Pharmaceuticals without any legal permission for drug production.

FDA Inspector Manoj Ayya (45, resident of Spine Road, Moshi, Pune) lodged a complaint with Shikrapur Police, leading to cases being filed against Dr. Pratik Pandit Palande (company owner), Quality Controller Sandeep Kshirsagar, Production Officer Anjan Shelke, and Ramesh Domale (all residents of Shikrapur, Shirur taluka).
