Pune: The second edition of the ‘Brahman Ratne’ Biographical Encyclopedia, which includes over 800 distinguished, late Brahman personalities from various fields spanning from 1801 to the present day, has recently been published in two volumes.
This encyclopedia was created to bring forth the immense contributions made by numerous accomplished individuals from the Brahman community over the last 225 years. Titled ‘Brahman Ratne’, this collection reintroduces the community to many forgotten but impactful leaders dedicated to nation-building.
The personalities featured in this encyclopedia are all from Maharashtra’s Brahmian community, and each of them has worked for the betterment of society as a whole. Looking at present-day Maharashtra, most regions of the state have seen holistic development. Both during the pre-independence era and in the 75 years since independence, leaders from all castes, religions, and communities have significantly contributed to Maharashtra’s transformation and progress. Among them, the contribution of eminent individuals from the Brahman community has been notably substantial.

By compiling these biographies into a dedicated and comprehensive volume, their memories will be preserved in book form for generations to come. This will not only inspire today’s youth with the stories of these immortal personalities, but also help bring true history to light.
