A young health coach has shared his shocking cancer diagnosis at age 25, revealing how he ignored early warning signs for nearly two years, mistaking them for minor health issues.

Dilan, a fitness enthusiast and wellness coach, took to Instagram to recount his journey after being diagnosed with Stage 4B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. The symptoms, which started with night sweats and later included itching, fatigue, and chest pain, were overlooked until visible lumps appeared on his body.

“It started with night sweats—waking up drenched, having to change clothes and bedsheets in the middle of the night,” Dilan wrote in his post. “Then came the unbearable itching. I scratched until I bled. After that, extreme fatigue set in—no matter how much I slept, I was always tired.”

When he eventually experienced chest pain, Dilan consulted a doctor who attributed it to muscle strain from exercise. He was prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and sent home.

“For another year, I lived unaware that my body was fighting a serious illness,” Dilan said.

It wasn’t until he noticed lumps on his neck and underarm that he returned to the doctor. This time, tests were ordered, revealing a diagnosis of Stage 4B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Further scans also uncovered a tumour in his lung, which had been the cause of his earlier chest pain.

“The cancer had been growing inside me for approximately two years,” he said. “Every emotion hit me—fear, disbelief, anger, anxiety. I kept thinking, how could this happen at 25?”

Dilan now urges others to take persistent symptoms seriously.

“I wish I had listened to my instincts and pushed for more tests,” he said. “If you feel something is wrong, don’t ignore it, and don’t let anyone dismiss your concerns. Your health is too important.”

He added, “Our bodies whisper before they scream. Mine whispered for two years. Don’t wait for the scream.”
