Pune, July 20, 2025: After a brief lull, the monsoon is set to regain strength in Maharashtra, bringing relief to farmers awaiting adequate rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted good rainfall across 18 districts between July 20 and July 25.

According to IMD officials, a low-pressure system has created favourable conditions for rainfall in the region. The Konkan and Vidarbha areas are expected to receive the heaviest showers, with some districts likely to experience very heavy rain, prompting a special advisory for vigilance.

Orange Alert for Heavy Rainfall

An Orange Alert has been issued for July 22 and 23 in the following districts:

Balwadkar
  • Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg (Konkan region)
  • Kolhapur and Satara (ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra)

These regions are likely to witness heavy to very heavy rainfall, and local administrations have been advised to remain prepared for potential disruptions.

  • Palghar, Thane, Pune ghat areas, Latur, Dharashiv
  • Vidarbha districts: Akola, Amravati, Nagpur, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli
