Pune, July 23: Weather conditions across western Maharashtra are set to change again with heavy rainfall predicted in several districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for the ghats from Pune to Kolhapur on July 23, urging residents and commuters to remain cautious.

The IMD forecast indicates:

Pune District: Rain remained subdued over the past 24 hours with maximum temperature touching 28.9°C. Heavy rainfall is likely over the ghat areas today. The maximum temperature may rise to 30°C, and the minimum could hover around 23°C.

Satara District: Light showers were recorded with 0.3 mm rainfall. An orange alert has been issued for ghat regions due to chances of heavy rain. The maximum temperature is expected at 29°C.

Kolhapur District: Recorded 3 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours, with maximum temperature at 26.3°C. Heavy rainfall is likely in ghat regions today.

Solapur District: Received 8 mm rainfall on Tuesday with a rise in maximum temperature to 31.9°C. Light rain is expected today.

Sangli District: Recorded 8 mm rainfall with light showers predicted and temperatures ranging between 22°C and 30°C.

Meteorologists have warned that heavy rain will persist in ghat areas, while other regions may experience light to moderate showers. Farmers and citizens are advised to plan accordingly.
