Pune: Joint Meeting Held In Aundh To Address Traffic Congestion And Encroachment WoesÂ
Pune, July 23, 2025: In a bid to resolve traffic congestion in Aundh, senior officials from Pune Police and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) held a joint meeting with local residents and society representatives. The discussion focused on improving signal management, deploying traffic police and wardens effectively, and taking strict action against encroachments in the area.
Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil emphasized that large commercial complexes should ensure proper entry and exit arrangements for vehicles in compliance with PMC’s approved building plans to ease traffic flow.

The meeting, held to address traffic and encroachment issues in Aundh, was attended by Police Deputy Commissioner Himmat Jadhav, CID Inspector General Rajendra Dahale, PMC Deputy Commissioner of Encroachment Department Sandeep Khalate, Senior Police Inspector Uttam Bhajanawale, Inspector Minal Patil, former corporator Archana Musale, Madhukar Musale, Assistant Commissioner Girish Dapkekar, and PMC engineers including Waghmare.
Residents Highlight Key Issues
Representatives from various societies pointed out severe traffic bottlenecks caused by unauthorized encroachments and narrow roads from Ambedkar Vasahat to Medipoint Hospital. Multiple complaints were raised about the recurring traffic jams at Medipoint Chowk, and citizens demanded road widening in critical areas.
Concerns were also voiced about congestion at Bhale Chowk, with residents urging officials to implement effective traffic management strategies. They further stressed that commercial malls along Mahadji Shinde Road should organize vehicular movement as per PMC’s sanctioned plans.
Encroachments Add to Congestion
Citizens highlighted the proliferation of unauthorized stalls and encroachments on footpaths and roads across Aundh, which have worsened traffic snarls. Madhukar Musale noted that despite efforts to develop Aundh as part of the Smart City project, encroachments continue to hamper smooth vehicular flow. He urged officials to act swiftly on the issues raised.
The meeting was attended by representatives from several housing societies located along DP Road, Nagras Road, and the Medipoint area.
