From early morning, women across the country will adorn themselves in green and red sarees, glass bangles, and intricate mehendi, bringing streets and homes alive with color. Idols of Goddess Parvati are placed on beautifully decorated platforms, and traditional offerings like sweets, coconut, flowers, and fruits are made. The fast is broken only after the evening aarti.
